![]() ![]() TheMHFan: And so, Sorey began his adventures as the Shepherd along with Mikleo, Lailah, and Alisha, meeting new buddies along the way. And it was here that Sorey would make the most fateful decision of his life–to purify the land of hellions and malevolence, and to see a world where humans and seraphim live together in harmony, Sorey decided to form a pact with Lailah and join the ranks of those chosen warriors. TheMHFan: And it just so happened that the hellions were nearby! Being the naturally good guy that he is, Sorey offered to pull the legendary Sacred Blade from the stone to fight ’em off.īringer of Darkness: It was here that Sorey had an encounter with the legendary Lady of the Lake, the fire seraph known as Lailah. TheMHFan: So their adoptive grandpappy, the literal thunder god Zenrus, let them set out on their hero’s journey at long last! And so began the tale of Sorey and Mikleo as they started to wander the land and go outside for the first time ever!īringer of Darkness: Arriving in Ladylake, the capital of Hyland, to search for Alisha and warn her of danger, Sorey soon discovered a festival being held in the city, one that celebrated the legendary warriors known as the Shepherds–chosen warriors who were destined to beat back the darkness threatening the land and bring the world back to the light. Alisha, wanting to trouble Sorey no longer, made to return to her home, but there was the fact that Lunarre was hunting after her. Hunting after Alisha was a hellion named Lunarre, and after the hellion had slain and devoured one of the seraphim living in Elysia, Sorey and Mikleo began to fear for Alisha’s safety and life. Then everything changed when the Fire Nation atta-erimean another human took a wrong turn to their home!īringer of Darkness: This was Alisha Diphda, a knight from the Kingdom of Hyland and her stumbling upon Elysia was a herald of things to come. ![]() For 17 years, they’d have a pretty normal life, completely unaware of the murder monsters in the world outside. TheMHFan: Sorey grew up alongside his best buddy, the water seraph Mikleo, and together they had a shared passion for exploring ancient ruins. Due to his high levels of natural resonance, Sorey is able to see and interact with the seraphim, spiritual beings who otherwise cannot be seen by normal humans without resonance. And since he’s lived in proto-Last-Jedi-village-thingy for all his life, naturally he’s able to see ghoooosts!īringer of Darkness: Well, Sorey can see ghosts, but that’s not the point. TheMHFan: And this is where our story starts! Meet our star of the day, Sorey, a human boy living among the seraphim ever since he was born. All of this is rampant everywhere in Glenwood except in one place: Elysia, the Home of the Seraphim. TheMHFan: But then you remember that this is a JRPG world, and JRPG worlds can get fucked up once you decide to look at them beyond a glance!īringer of Darkness: Glenwood is infested with feral creatures known as hellions, and the air is thick with malevolence, the dark substance swelling forth from human hearts that creates the hellions. Medieval towns, an ecology straight out of a storybook, stories and legends inspired by Arthurian myth… ![]() TheMHFan: But these two Chosen Ones in particular have proven that they can bear the weight of the world, and do so while being the cheery, optimistic heroes that they are!īringer of Darkness: Sorey, the Shepherd.īringer of Darkness: I’m the Bringer of Darkness and he’s TheMHFan, and it’s our job to look into their weapons, armor and skills to find out who would win in a clash of ages!īringer of Darkness: The continent of Glenwood, at first, may seem like your average fantasy setting. In their duty to save the world, the Chosen Ones are burdened with a constant stream of agonizing decisions that could very well decide the fate of the world and its people. That is the burden that the Chosen One bears–the weight of the world upon their shoulders. And when those expectations are not met, the Chosen One will be met with disdain and hate. The world will throw its weight behind the chosen, expecting them to solve its problems and rid it of its evils. TheMHFan: Being the “Chosen One” destined to vanquish evil from the world must be incredibly badass, especially when you’ve got all four elements–water, earth, fire, and air–under your command! Hardly anyone can stop you if you’re packing that much heat!īringer of Darkness: However, the title of “Chosen One” is as much a burden as it is a boon. Will Sorey purify the Avatar, or will Aang maintain the balance by striking down the Shepherd? Season 5, Episode 3! Tales of Zestiria vs Avatar: The Last Airbender!
